| SAMANTHA BAKHURST is an award-winning filmmaker. She has produced and directed films for Women in Film and TV, British Film Institute, Living Archive, Capital Radio, Classic FM, Radio 4 and BBC. |
| Samantha’s films include the multi award-winning 4 p.m. (2000) [Official Selection for Sundance, Winner of Best Film at Paris, Best Short at San Francisco and Austin, Audience Award at Palm Springs amongst others], Story of an Afternoon (2001) [Selected for the Depict Award and European New Writers award], Bubblegum (2003), starring Sophie Ward and Michelle Collins [Selected for BAFTA screening for future feature directors, and selected as one of Stephen Fry’s favourites on Fry’s Shorts]. Her documentaries and music videos include Our Lives, Ourselves (1996) [Winner Urban Youth Award], Racing Again (1999) and Love Bites (2002). |
| Samantha has also written and edited numerous books and articles on Film and TV history and has run nation-wide projects for the Arts Council, including Film and Animation projects, the British Library Publishing project, the Institute for Citizenship London Mayor project. |
| In 2004 through production company Angel TV, Samantha Bakhurst and Sally Angel devised and produced Time Trail for UKtv History and Anglia Television. In addition to the programme they provided a comprehensive package including interactive applications and website content. The series was UKtv History's best premiering origination to date. Angel TV has also produced programming with Women in Film and Television. |
